HBO – Game of Thrones – #1TrueKing WebGL Social App (Beta)
Product Description: Game of Thrones – George R.R. Martin’s best-selling book series “A Song of Ice and Fire” is brought to the screen as HBO sinks its considerable storytelling teeth into the medieval fantasy epic. It’s the depiction of two powerful families — kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars and honest men — playing a deadly game for control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, and to sit atop the Iron Throne. Martin is credited as a co-executive producer and one of the writers for the series, which was filmed in Northern Ireland and Malta.
Project Description: As part of a full digital experience strategy to launch HBO’s Season 4 of Game of Thrones, fans were invited to lay claim as the #1TrueKing of the Digital Throne for the chance to compete for the physical Iron Throne at Comic-Con. Like the Iron Throne, built by Aegon the Conqueror with 1,000 surrendered swords, the Digital Throne is composed of the millions of words sacrificed by fans on social media. All #1TrueKing social media posts are aggregated and text is broken down and reassembled in the form of the throne. As a 3D WebGL environment, guests can rotate the room to view the throne from multiple angles. Each letter that makes up the throne is interactive to reveal the contributing fan’s #1TrueKing post including any associated media. All claims can be searched/filtered by location, handle, and social media platform. Users are also able to connect their social profiles and enter the sweepstakes.
